Dale Dukes


Owner, operator, grass cutter, and hugger.  Dale works tirelessly to keep Dukes Lumber a friendly place to come for building materials.  His father, Silas Dukes, started the business in 1962 and Dale carries out Silas’ legacy each and every day. His heart truly is for his customers and his employees.  If you see him, give him a hug.


Rusty Dukes


Rusty is the Laurel store’s hand shaker extraordinaire.  You will find him working hard to get orders out to his customers daily.  He also spends a week each year at the Orgill Hardware Show staying on the cutting edge with new products for Dukes customers.  In his free time he serves on the board of Delmarva Teen Challenge, a life transformation program for men of all ages.


Kolby Dukes


Kolby does it all at Dukes Lumber.  He serves up orders for contractors, designs mobile pricing applications, computer systems work, takes deliveries and much more!  He has been working at Dukes since he was old enough to type.  Kolby recently got married to the love of his life.  If you see him, let him know its going to be alright.


Don Fountain


How long has Don been working at Dukes Lumber?  135 Years all by his self, at least that’s what Don claims. In reality, we think he has worked for Dukes about 40 years.  Don specializes in outside contractor sales.  Don is extremely knowledgeable about building materials of all kinds and aims to please. 


Tom Jones


Tom has been with Dukes over 20 years, serving many of our local customers. Tom specializes in lock services, windows, doors and siding. He has well rounded construction knowledge and is a go to guy for construction advice.  After work, you’ll see Tom around the water fishing or on his motorcycle cruising the back roads.


Charlie Wilkerson


Charlie Wilkerson, the hardest working man at Dukes Lumber.  Windows and doors, roofing and siding, composite decking, vinyl railing, Charlie knows them all. He is one of the top sales guys at Dukes and is a great all around guy. Drop by Dukes in Laurel with a Chickfila sandwich for Charlie and have a friend for life!


James Gschwandtner


If you are looking to renovate a room with new flooring or paint, you will want to talk to James. After 10 years with Dukes, James can just about do it all! On his lunch break you might find him reading NCIS forums or checking on the Tar Heels.  James has two little girls of his own so keep him in your prayers.


Rick Culver


Rick has been with Dukes Lumber since 1999.  He is the cabinet and countertop guy at Dukes Lumber in Laurel.  Rick specializes in quality products such as Homecrest Cabinets, Silestone quartz  and Wilsonart laminate countertops.  In his free time Rick spends time tending chickens and riding his lawnmower.


Steve Hancock


Steve has been part of the Dukes Lumber family for over 37 years!  He was once a part of Dukes Lumber in Seaford, but now he is down at the Laurel store.  You can find his smiling face at the counter handling contractor sales.  In his free time, Steve likes to read so when you see him be sure to give him a tip on the best book you’ve ever read. 


Mike McVey


Mike isn’t just handsome, he’s also really smart.  He has been in the construction and wood working industry for many years.  Ask him a question about building materials and you’re sure to get a quick and accurate answer.  Mike loves his wife, mainly because she lets him have three Harley Davidson motorcycles.  On the weekends, find Mike cruising on his favorite hog. 

Seaford Location


Dottie Dukes


There just aren’t enough good things to say about Dottie “Mommom” Dukes.  She handles the daily accounting procedures at Dukes in Seaford, answers the phone, and give out free hugs all day long.  A trip to the Seaford store isn’t complete without stopping into her office to say hello.  In her freetime, she is cooking up some of the best dinners in Sussex County for her family.


Scott Dukes


Scott handles business up at Dukes Lumber in Seaford.  You will find him working hard for his contractors and sending out orders all over the Seaford area.  He has three beautiful little granddaughters that he loves spending time with in his free time.


Jeff Elliot


Jeff handles paint and cabinets at the Seaford store.  The Seaford store has an impressive paint and cabinet display room that Jeff is glad to show you around.  Jeff is an avid Baltimore Ravens fan so be sure to give him a big “Go Ravens!” when you see him.


Dave Painter


Dave is the face of Dukes Lumber in Seaford.  He is the smiling face you see at the inside counter every time you come in.  He knows a ton about hardware, DeWalt tools and building materials of all kinds.  Dave is another one of the Dukes Lumber Harley Davidson crew.  Ask him about his hog when you see him.
